When I first shared this post my goal was to try to slowly challenge my little boys colour sight association comfort with his much loved carrot ..although my little boys list of tasted vegetables is slowly growing which makes me over the moon happy! The list of vegetables that he will dependably eat more than just a taste is very short! so far we have : cucumbers, carrots, Kale Chips, baked Sweet Potatoes cut into shapes and small florets of Broccoli or puréed Bok Choy mixed in Jasmine rice.....and Celeriac Root + Parsnip shoestring frites ..Oh and of course the Spinach in Spanakopita only! [Wow .. Well actually considering how far he has come that list is looking pretty good!]
So it is with much excitement that I am announcing that the technique I used for his shredded carrots has worked! By slowly allowing him to help and see me shred up his loved carrots *while* slowly integrating various colours of carrots ..he slowly relaxed and accepted eating a variety of multicoloured carrots which then allowed me to slowly add -a bit at a time- thinly shredded chopped CABBAGE!!! WooHoo ..he is now eating a multicoloured shredded carrot and cabbage salad!
Patience & Persistence have been the key and they are most excitedly opening doors ....HELLLO CABBAGE
