I was really craving some nice creamy blue cheese and as we all finished our main course meal and I was readying to serve the cheese it struck me to just live life on the edge and offer it to my boy ..I was in one of those elusive "go with the flow and be creative" moods. Referencing how restaurants usually serve cheese I decided to play fancy and give my little boy his little cracker with bits of creamy blue cheese, drizzle honey over the top and put some chunks of dried fig ...humble bistro worthy fare . Oh and let him peruse his favourite pirate book -no pressure kiddo!
Well I just 'bout fell out my chair as he delicately took off the unwanted bits of dried fig and devoured his blue cheese and honey toasts ... what the #%\>?*
Hmmm it looks like his daily dose of honey that he loves on his Greek yoghurt has transferred over to honey and blue cheese! Who really would have known! Now I have not tried to push the blue cheese only offering it occasionally to him but he has steadily kept his interest ...in fact it has been a while since I offered it to him I think I will give it a go again tonight ...maybe will try to offer with walnuts this time.
I love those incredibly unexpected moments when my child eats something I never imagined he would ...I would just love to hear about a surprise taste your little ones have taken too!
