My frustration began to grow as I chopped up a lovely fresh tomatoe cilantro Salsa ..char grilled lime marinated Steak slices ..smashed up our guacamole and sautéed strips of green pepper ..everything smelled so delicious and knowing that my little boy was going to refuse it all in favour of a pile of tortillas was really getting to me!!
In my complete annoyance with him I chopped up the tortilla into strips and stuck them all in a big pile of guacamole on his plate! I thought to myself "if my boy only wants to eat tortilla then fine ..he can eat his tortilla *all covered in guacamole*!!! I was ready for a battle!
The funny part of this story is that I forgot to put napkins on the table as I usually do ..and when my little guy sat up to his plate and pondered the situation seeing that all of the tortillas on the table were stuck into something GREEN! ..he started asking for a napkin ..HA!! he wanted to wipe off the guacamole ..
Surprisingly we were actually able to distract him into forgetting about the napkins he wanted ..talking ..laughing ..fun books for him to look at ..and low and behold he actually ate all of his tortilla ..even though the ends had gusacamole stuck to it! WoW! we were beyond happy ..
Now the sautéed green peppers ..the beef ..the fresh tomato salsa all sat completely untouched the whole meal ..but ..that will be a taste trial for another occasion ..just having figured out how to get him to taste Avacado in an unplanned and unexpected way is good enough for me ..I guess a little annoyance and frustration can be a good
